I was setting up from Germany and had no idea how to navigate the Swiss notary and HR process. Treuhand Hive handled everything by power of attorney — I never had to travel to Zürich.

Swiss company formation
questions, answered

A GmbH requires CHF 20'000 minimum capital (100% paid up), with shareholders' names publicly visible in the HR. An AG requires CHF 100'000 minimum capital (at least 50% paid up), with more flexible governance and greater shareholder privacy. GmbH is preferred for owner-managed businesses; AG for larger operations and external investment.
Typically 2–3 weeks from notarial deed to commercial register entry. The timeline depends on the workload of the Handelsregisteramt Zürich. We submit all documents on the day of notarisation and track progress until the company appears in Zefix.
No. Non-residents can form a Swiss company. However, at least one authorised signatory (Zeichnungsberechtigter) must be resident in Switzerland. We can provide a resident director or authorised signatory service if required.
After HR entry: open a corporate bank account (allow 2–4 weeks with Swiss banks), register for MWST if turnover will exceed CHF 100'000, register with the AHV Ausgleichskasse if you will employ staff, and set up accident and pension insurance. We coordinate all of these as part of our post-formation package.
Yes. We provide a registered business address at Stockerstrasse 21, 8002 Zürich for the commercial register entry. Mail is received and forwarded. Annual domicile fee applies from year two.
Our professional fee starts at CHF 1'500. State fees (notary approx. CHF 1'200–2'000, HR entry fee CHF 600) are additional at cost. The mandatory share capital of CHF 20'000 must be deposited and remains in the company as working capital after formation.
